I love this version of The Cat In The Hat. I here a lot of terrible reviews but I truly think it's hilarious. I love Mike Myers in general, too, so that may have something to do with it. Either way, I could not have seen anyone else playing the cat. I read on IMDB that Tim Allen was going to play the cat except he had prior committments to Santa Claus 2 or something. There's no way that it would have been "better" if he played it but hey, that's just one person's opinion.
Long time, no polyvore. Those who have forgotten me, I have returned - for a while at least. I've missed polyvore. It's changed quite a bit. Well, the purpose of this set is to pay tribute to Doc Roe off of Band of Brothers, I'm watching Bastogne in my history class and...just wow. If you haven't watch Band of Brothers or The Pacific, I highly suggest you do so, especially if you enjoy World War II related movies/series.
♥ The beloved Chaplin costume ♥ There I am in my bowler hat (thank you Forever21, it was the last one!), my mom's white button up, my dad's to-big-for-me trousers, my homemade suspenders (thanks to both my parents for helping me & that crafty lil craft store that had them. It took us forever to find suspenders, we went to every thrift store, no such luck. In the end, my dad suggested to make them & it worked.), my great grandmother's navy blue polka dot scarf, my mother's boots (that are out of frame *sad face*), a flower from my parent's garden that seems to be wilted when I arrived at my friend's house (the flower, if you can't see it, is on the right side), my mother's & friend's eyeliner (for mustache & eyes), & about 7 safety pins holding everything (including the scarf or "chaplin tie" together). Oh & one of the most iconic items, the bamboo cane. My dad found it, god bless him. I never had a real reason to carry around until now! It wasn't a flexibly bendy one like Chaplin's but it was just the same to me. That white circle on my suspender strap, btw, is a button-pin of Charlie <3 There you have it, my Chaplin-esque costume. I hope you enjoy my so called masterpiece :))
I dressed up like Charlie Chaplin for a costume party, more of the feminine version lol. Needless to say, it was an utter success! I even did his waddle but it was deliberate, I wore these boots that were about mid-calf height and they were so stiff! I could only waddle! Everyone kept saying I had his walk down to a science.....oh if they only knew...
I'll try to get some pics so you can make your own judgment.
